About

We are skilled academic researchers and evaluators, and community storytellers.

ResearchCrowd is a small ‘research’ agency backed by a big ‘crowd’. Our diverse team of experts ensure that we deliver all projects on time, within budget, and to high quality standards

Our co-founders, Dr Catherine Demosthenous and Dr Hellene Demosthenous, are sisters of Gamilaroi, Cypriot and Irish heritage, who have walked a similar path – completed doctoral studies, worked as research fellows, lectured at university, served community and raised beautiful families.

We saw the need for an independent, personalised research service that could lead and deliver across all phases of the research journey. We have a strong desire to build the capacity of our communities to lead and drive their own research and evaluation. We draw on the wisdom of our crowd and thank all who walk with us on our way.

In 2014, we became part of the supplier diversity global movement.

ResearchCrowd is a certified supplier with Supply Nation – the Australian leader in the supplier diversity global movement for changing entrenched organisational processes. They bring together Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander businesses and Australian organisations to help them engage and do business. We are proud to work with organisations, clients and communities from diverse sectors who share our passion for creating greater social benefits and positive social impact for all.

ResearchCrowd is a friend of Reconciliation Queensland Incorporated. Reconciliation Queensland’s vision is for an equitable and informed Queensland that recognises the shared past between Indigenous and non-Indigenous Queenslanders, and respects Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people as the first Australians.

ResearchCrowd is a Sustainable Procurement Pledge Ambassador with the pro-bono community of those committed to embedding sustainability in procurement practices. We are committed to the Responsible Procurement agenda. We care about people and the planet and include sustainability as part of our overall mindset.

ResearchCrowd is a member of Women in Research who work to inspire and support female researchers, enhance the effective mentioning of women and promote gender diversity in educational and research institutions for all women, including Indigenous women.

ResearchCrowd is a signatory to the Family Matters campaign for strong communities, strong culture and strong children. Family Matters is Australia’s national campaign to ensure Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and young people grow up safe and cared for in family, community and culture.

ResearchCrowd is keen to contribute and share ideas to help improve the health and wellbeing of people from all walks of life. The co-founders were pleased to join with the Centre for Health Research in the Institute of Resilient Regions at the University of Southern Queensland.
